The improvement is found two fold IMHO
1) Less aerodynamic resistance means it takes less HP to pull the trailer through the air at speed. 12 ft vs 10 walls being pulled at 60-65 MPH takes less Hp which means it’s easier for the truck to pull.
2) Lower COG means the trailer is less tippy and will generally handle better. Add shocks plus los COG and a well tuned weight distribution hitch and a balanced trailer/truck and you are in for a great handling experience.
