does anyone bring coolers anymore with full fridges?

Do the 12-volts really work well, especially in the real heat?

Keep the Fridge door closed as much as possible.+ you can never have to many coolers.

We have a 6 pack size Playmate cooler for use in the truck on the road. But when parked the frig in the TT is fine.

Our fridge seem to be large enough for 4-5 days worth of food. When we go longer I think I'll get the cooler out of the shed for Beer/Wine/Juice box duty. Also notice that it gets really cold really fast.

A regular portable cooler really helps when you go food shopping and it's hot out and you are a long way from the cg or you want to stop on the way back to the cg or want to shop some more. Also good if you have a separate tow vehicle and want to go for a day trip or picnic somewhere.

We have a 12 volt cooler that is very handy in the heat of the summer for keeping bottled water, pop and bulky fesh stuff like lettuce cool. Got our Coleman one at Walmart. Only thing about these is that they cool your items to about 40 degrees F colder than the ambient outside temp. and can't be adjusted. This means that when it's really hot out, your drinks may not be cool enough. And when it gets cooler out, stuff inside can freeze. When it's hot out, you can keep the cooler in the shade which helps. We're going to add a 12 volt outlet in the bed of the truck so it will keep stuff cool while travelling. Many brands of these out there. I thought there are none out there that are temp. controlled, but it looks like Koolatron has one.

No more coolers for us. 5'er has an 8cuft fridge and with just the two of us we can keep plenty of beer in there. We don't drink pop much except for my R&C:). We keep 8-10 bottles of beer, 1 bottle of white wine and maybe 2 smaller bottles of Coke in the fridge. When something gets low we just restock it from the pantry. Red wine stays in the pantry and we throw in the water bottles if needed. The nice thing about having a fridge is not having to refill coolers with ice when it really hot out. Hated those days. I suppose if I had 2-3 kids going it maybe different. I would possibly take a small beverage cooler for them. It would if anything keep them form running in and out of the TT.

We always carry our cooler full of ice to keep the caught fish fresh until we get back to the site and have to clean them for dinner.

As others have said, we keep a cooler (or outside fridge) for the adult beverages and other assorted drinks. It cuts down on traffic in and out of the camper while we are out.
