Simply stating an "F250" could mean any of hundreds of configurations of trucks manufactured over the last few decades. They could have anything from a small block gas engine to a big block to a V10 to a diesel with numerous other driveline choices. So no, they are not all the same.
Either way, 10,000 pounds isn't that much for a 250 series truck of most any description. Some are capable of pulling well over that amount. I doubt very many made in the last 15 years were rated for less than that.
What do you mean by strain? Anytime you use any machine you are moving it closer to the point where something wears out. Everything wears out eventually.
