does it hurt a f250 gas motor to bumper pull 10,000 lbs?
I know diesel has more torque but just a simple question for my phycological purchase. does 10,000 lb towing put strain on a gas motor enough to make it hurt it?

The manufacturer gives a GCVWR to answer the question you are asking. This number on a newer gas 250 will be around 20K, depending what gear ratio the truck has. So if your new 250 weighs 7k, you would be able to tow 13K, without harming the drive train.
