Silicone is an excellent sealant when in compression between two surfaces and not exposed to UV. Left exposed, not so much. The Geocel polymer sealants (Proflex being one) are far superior to silicone on an RV.

I have used Silicone in the Sheet Metal Industry since it was introduced into common usage (circa 1970?)
And once you put Silicone on a surface you are screwed for ever trying to get anything else to seal it.
As stated it makes a great gasket but is terrible as a skim over sealant.

My thoughts too. I work in the Construction Biz and since I've found Geocel, I use it almost exclusively for sealing doors and windows.
