Since you work for GM, salespeople would give you better guidance than we can on such a short term ownership plan.
I have seen one Cajun Red and did admire it. I was real close to ordering that color.
My daughter now has a 2021 3500 Denali Duramax in White Frost Tricoat. I am not sure that I would get my $1000 extra at resale. This cost her $63k in June.
I have talked to some salespeople, and have access to all the colors of all the GM vehicles. However, just because we paint them the color the dealer orders, does not mean it is the color the customer wanted.
For those that say I will lose money, I appreciate your comments. I have been successful selling vehicles that I purchased because of pricing. I had contemplated a 1500 Silverado with the 3.0 Dmax, but that seemed to have a risky resale. I believe that 3500 HD Dmax will not have resale risk. And besides, if the economy tanks, and nobody can afford to buy a truck, I will have a really nice pickup.
