Does the Color of an HD Pickup Make a Difference?

I am contemplating if I order a 3500 CC Silverado LTZ. If I do, I plan to sell the truck in a year. When you shop for your truck, is color important? I do not want black, my wife said no to white or bright red. She said blue until she saw the HD in blue. I had built an order with Cherry Red, but was now thinking about Silver or going with the new Greenstone metallic. I have not seen the Greenstone in person, and the two that were at dealers have both been sold and the dealer does not have a real picture of the vehicle.

Does the color matter?

Absolutely.... And the vehicle looks are important to me as well.
  • I don't care much but like colors that hide dirt. Black is a no go for me.
  • I’d choose white like others have said, and I like my white LTZ. Cooler than my previous dark grey Tahoe. Easier to sell IMO.
  • This is similar to a thread asking what is easier to sell a TT or a toyhauler. Now you ask what color truck is easier to resell.
Why not buy the color you like vs. the color the next guys likes. Are you buying for you or me.
I imagine white and black are the most popular, but if you don't want those colors buy what you like. Let the next guy compromise on color, buy the color you prefer.
When I buy used condition of the vehicle trumps all, color is secondary.
I'm not a fan of red vehicles, but I would not hesitate to buy red over white if the red truck were in superior condition
  • In this area it seems the color preferences are white first, then silver or grey, then black followed by red, and with very few blue and green. But the Texas heat may influence that somewhat since lighter colors will be a little cooler.
  • white is most popular and I would think easiest to sell.
