If your going to use a heat strip, make sure your extension cord or wiring to the 57915 is heavy enough. A 5400 btu heat strip will pull approximately 12 to 13 amps @ 125vac, or approx 1600 watts of power. If your cord wire gauge is to small or to long there will be a significant voltage drop and the wiring will get hot. Yes, it should take the chill out of the TT. On cold windy days it may run a good number of hours out of the day causing a big electric bill. Hope that helps.
