Dometic fridge freezer sub zero -7 below fridge 55 degrees

I think my fridge has something plugged up and the fins in the fridge are not getting cold. If my freezer is 7 below zero my fridge fins should be cold regardless of how well the thermister is working? You will notice that is a question. The way I understand it the thermister is actually just going to decide when and if the boiler is going to run. If the thermister is lower it runs less frequently thus the fridge and freezer would run a little warmer. It is uncommon for any of my rv fridges to get to below zero in the past but this freezer is like the deep freeze in my garage and the fridge is 55 degrees. Any and all opinions and answers appreciated.

I just did my solar install and thought about a 12 volt fridge. Thinking it might be time to get that Danfoss refer I have been dreaming about.

Thanks
Dave

Try unplugging or taking the thermistor off the fin... this will let the unit run longer so maybe the refer section will get colder. Agree with the freezer section that cold the refer should be colder. I think these things should go to hell when they die,.. as much trouble they can give us.

*My recently installed 21 cuft refrigerator uses 96 watts... measured at the input of the PSW inverter powering it. No reason to pay big $$$ for a small 12V compressor refrigerator. My duty-cycle is less than 50 percent so it will go over 24 hours on two batteries before recharging.

10 amps of solar would power it and if you put it on a timer so it only ran during the day,..then one extra battery would be enough.

I went the residential route in my 5th wheel. But in my TC the nova kool is a perfect fit. I also like the idea of not having to have a inverter. I may take a second look at that route for the TC but I am leaning heavily toward the Nova Kool. I have read many good things about them. I also talked with them at Nova Kool and I am sure they would be very helpful if you had to trouble shoot any problems.

freezer below 0*F and food compartment 55*F.........cooling unit blockage between the 2 compartment evap coolers.

    Fridge is DEAD....DONE......NO GOOD........KAPUT!

Keep running it and it will overheat tubing.crack develop and then the ammonia/hydrogen will leak out.

    Fridge is DEAD....DONE.....NO GOOD....KAPUT!

Now that it has DIED.you can justify that Nova Kool

Roger that I believe I will be ordering in the morning:)

Switching to a compressor refrigerator was the best thing I did, it's nice to reach in and get a ice cold drink and it's 100 degree out side. I've had mine since 2013 and its a Dometic CR1110, 3.8 cu. ft. of interior space.
Here's the link to my install CR1110 install

I am eyeing the nova kool 8220. 7.3 cubic foot. It fits right exactly into my old slot. That was a great video you shot, I watched it some time ago. I was actually kind of hoping my fridge would die. I could not justify the expense if it kept chugging along regardless of what a pain it was.

Thank for PMing me, compressor refer aren't cheap but to me it was worth every penny it costed. Nova Kool are good units and use the Danfoss compressors, if you go with that unit make sure it come with the 120AC volt to 12Vdc converter if not get it. The CR1110 that I bought fit my cabinet cavity of my old unit and gave more interior room.
