Dometic glass top stove ?

We have the three burner in our NS Arrow and cook on all the time. We use smallish pans as it is just the two of us. Use all three burners but only two at a time as space is limited. Stove is easy to clean up and we use the glass top when preparing food. My only beef is that low heat regulation is not so good. Overall we are very happy. Bill

I just spent a week in the camper and realized what I don't like about the glass top...... my old camper had the burners set front and back with the metal top opening to the side with about an inch of space between it and the refrigerator. The glass top is installed sideways and the top opens back. I lose almost 6 inches of space behind the cover. While cooking there is always the need for space around the stove for ingredients, spoons, etc. This just wastes counter space.

I think if i was ordering from the factory I would get one, but I am looking used. Some have glass top stove, some don't.

LOL - I wanted one so badly that I special ordered it on a new unit :) I just love the level counter space.

I love ours. I would rather have the extra counter space than the old style one. The grates are a little tippy, but I have a $$$$ stove in the sticks & brick that does the same darn thing! And they are heavy duty cast iron grates.... go figure.

I always use a large pan on one side and a smaller sauce pan on the other.

I just walked outside and measured for you. My round 10" cast iron griddle fits perfectly on one side and then my small tapered sauce pan - 5" bottom, 7" rim fits nicely next to it. You could go a smidgen bigger.

So my largest pan is 10". I actually looked and I don't even own anything that's as large as a 13" pan in my house. I'd use my outdoor stove for anything that large anyway b/c I don't want the condensation and splatter in the TC.

13" would overhang into the other burner.

I sometimes use a Coleman stovetop oven and it just doesn't fit right on the glass top. My previous, it fit fine right against the metal cover centered on the burner. The other thing to look out for is that you do not cover the knobs with a pan, griddle, or other large utensil as it may retain heat and make turning the knobs a little uncomfortable.

We dont use our front center burner on our top, but it has a full grill. Spacing doesnt look that much smaller on rear 2 burners however that grill on the glass top shown I see by the 3rd morning Id be dumping coffee pot?

Looks like it would take a conscious balancing act to ensure pan sets...havnt used one, pretty sure the 'user' of the stove would be issuing clear instruction on "FIX IT". I do like the single flip up glass top verse the bifold we have, mute as pots set on the stove so its always open. Its the grill though that Id be shying away from, just a project waiting to happen.

Don't like this arrangement at all. The people that design these things should try cooking once in a while. I'd like to see 2 pans on that stove at the same time.

We have one, works fine. Used to have the 3-burner model, don't remember last time we used all 3 at the same time. That one had a foldup top, so it also could be used as a work surface. Move from 3 to 3-burner probably a cost-cutting move, as so many "improvements" are these days :)
