How long have you had it running? 12 to 24 hours to precool is normal.

Started early this morning, fridge does not feel cool at all.

Wait till tomorrow and report back.

it is hard to tell with your hand, check and see what the temp really is.


I always feel like ours is not that cold but it will freeze the stuff on the top shelf.

get one of these or similar type...

I put one in my slide in camper fridge...keep the readout in the cab. I know what the temp of my fridge is going down the road, or sitting in the house waiting for it to pre-cool.

Something to have when you go camping...You don't have to keep opening the door to see if the fridge is cold, letting cold air out and warm air in in the process. Also, it lets you know if there is a problem before it really becomes a problem. Nothing is worse than a fridge full of bad food because you didn't know it quit.

Check the back .. where the coils are. Is anything discolored or leaking?

You didn't say what year the trailer was, but we had a trailer once that had to be pretty level for the fridge to get cold. The Freon didn't flow evenly through the fridge when trailer was un-level. Is trailer level?

As suggested 24 hr. cool down and a thermometer.

RV unit are not like home units with bowers and independent cooling zones. They are pretty bare bones units.

....and, I have found that if you keep opening the door every few minutes to check it, it will even take longer.
