Ordered a new Amish Built cooling unit for our Dometic fridge today. Should be delivered in a couple days. $748.00 with UPS. I decided on new rather than rebuilt. Looking forward to getting back out and going places again. Got to say, I was surprised at how cheap the fridge is built. A 2" styrofoam box box held together by aluminium backed rubber adhesive. It works just pricey for what it is. I'll let y'all know how it fits back in and performs when done.*************************The new 120 volt heating element arrived.*************************

When you put the new one in use long set screws or cut the heads off some 10-32s (can’t recall the screw size). Put a couple in the freezer cold plate then drop it in, it’ll align easily. That’s the hardest part of the job.

I plan to replace the old screws with stainless if I can find them. I see some people were told by the service department to drill new holes because the lineup wasn't good, couldn't be found. Hopefully, this will be the last time I ever have to mess with it.
