and not Kool seal either. wondering if this cheaper product from HD would work, liquid roof is $230 at amazon and this is $100 for the same size bucket. Anyone actually tried this?

Is your roof shot?
Or are you trying to prevent it from wearing out?
Honestly, any thin liquid stuff you put up there is wasting your money and time..
I tried Kool seal and bed liner after the kool seal failed, neither product lasted more than a few months and started splitting.
I put a new roof on and that fixed my problems.
Not to mention the stuff you linked states SILICONE and I would RUN from any product that contains silicone if you ever have hopes of resealing roof vents and such.. NOTHING sticks to cured silicone, not even silicone it's self and cleaning old cured silicone is a pain.
Agreed. I used paint-on goo for EPDM. It looked great at first. After a couple years, it cracked and just looked terrible.
I recently replaced the roof. None of the work was technical, but it took about 40 hours. All materials - new roof, adhesives, plywood, new skylight, etc. less than $1000. It was also a chance to eliminate a bunch of potential leaks, I eliminated the antenna, ladder mounts, mostly useless solar panel, and relocated the horns to the underside - reduced the roof perforations by about 40 holes!
