I tow a 32 ft 7800 lb gross weight trailer with a 1/2 ton Tundra and did so with a 1/2 ton GM before that. Solid as a rock, no sway, no bouncing. I have towed to Florida and all the way to the west coast and never an issue. Panic stops once or twice and still solid.
As others have said it's all about set up.
As usual on here you can't tow anything without at least a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. The OP and others looking for info would have been better served by focusing on set up and not bashing 1/2 tons again.
