My memory of old cars and trucks is rather sharp.
Even into the ‘80s you could still buy a Chevy with a tongue & groove wood bed floor.
They held up to that sort of thing very well. People who hauled livestock usually opted for that because they wouldn’t bend up like the flimsy metal floor.
Granted, the thread did specify metal floor... but there used to be a tougher option in the old trucks.
