OP-
I am sorry for your troubles.
Did I understand correctly that there have now been 3 transmissions in this Ram? And you are gearing up for a fourth? I have a suspicion that the broke transmissions are a symptom of something else. Have you shot an IR thermometer on this tranny while hot to see how hot this thing is getting?
As to Chrysler itself...My brand new 2014 Minivan had a water pump failure at 2500 miles...fixed...now 22k miles later..knock on wood...no other problems. I am not so sure that Chrysler is trying to deny warrenty work as to them being bound by warrenty verbiage.
I suggest looking in your warranty papers and trying to see if there are any limits on installation and warranty claims. IE if Chrysler Canada installed the tranny then Chrysler Canada is responsible for the warrenty work.
Also, I suggest having your drive line alignment verified...it really sounds like the transmission failures are a symptom...if the Previous Owner beat on the tranny, what else did he or she do?
As to GM...so far I have had two engine failures in my life. Both were in GM powered vehicles. So far I have had five cooling system failures in my life...three were in GM powered vehicles. One was my Chrysler, another in a Ford.
If you own them long enough you will be able to call any of them Junk. They ALL fail eventually.
My friend BenK was talking about Bell Curves earlier and he is absolutly right. But given a long enough period of time the failure rate of ALL components is 100%. That's why we have Service life spans for our components and equipment.
Unfortunately, buying an off lease vehicle you really have no idea how your truck was actually used. Therefore the service life is a 100% question mark. I strongly suggest finding the real cause of the failures.
Thanks and I really hope you get this sorted out!
