I think he is the OP. I wondered if he might have been guessing that was the cause. If he knew the truck had been abused he might have had more reservations about buying it.
But if that's the case maybe he should have titled this thread Don't Buy an Abused Truck, There's a Good Reason Why.
Yep...think you're right:B
and will agree with you...OP's post shouldn't have been "Don't buy a Dodge, There is a good reason why"..
IF the original owner is the one who screwed up the tranny, and since then, transmission repairs/replacements have been botched, why would you recommend to never purchase that type of vehicle??? Was the transmission messed up when truck was brand new? If truck hadn't been "abused" while being owned by another would the OP still have the same problem he has had since he owned it??
What is the saying, "Let the buyer beware"...especially when it comes to buying a used vehicle. I would have probably noted what you stated... Title the post differently.
It wasn't Ram's fault that OP purchased a truck that had been abused and tranny's failed, it was an owners fault...
"Let the buyer beware"...would be a better Topic...
Heck if I purchased a used Chevy or Ford, not knowing the back ground and have issue after issue after issue...I'm not going to go after Chevy or Ford...I will complain, but it's not THEIR fault that what they manufactured was abused by an owner....but guess that's too easy to say...There are people on the Cummins forums who have owned the trucks with the G56 manual tranny for years and years and not had the problems OP did, but they didn't abuse their trucks...
