I saw a pair of rods for $2.97 in Wal-Mart... extend up to 19 inches wide each.. with screws and brackets.. and probably doesn't extend more than 1/2 inch from mounting.. perfect for inside of door allowing the screen to close or not bind. I will screw into door and use a little filler/glue on screw to help it hold in aluminum door.
