YUP! I do both to maintain the desired speed. OH I also add cruise control.
Some wise Ford engineer decided to program the cruise control on the 2017 Ford pick up trucks (only those with adaptive cruise control ... so just the high trim level trucks do this) to apply the wheel brakes to maintain the precise set speed when going down steep grades. I have to turn cruise off if I want only the exhaust brake to function without wheel brakes. I'm sure most new Ford owners don't know this.
