A Jake brake is simply a compression release. A diesel engine has little braking because the energy to compress the air is immediately recovered on the down stroke. A compression release prevents that recovery of energy.
I beleive that is what I said. However, I was also stating why he is seeing higher boost with an engine brake due to the air being forced out during the compression stroke spinning the turbine even faster.
