It is just as likely that the Ford gauge is lying about boost on exhaust brake as your theory that the RAM/Cummins is lying about no boost.
I'm not looking at it that way at all. On the Ford there is no question.... you can see the gauge start to show boost as the engine brakes. As the boost continues to rise you can feel the efficiency of the exhaust brake increase. Exactly the same as with the Peterbilt.
I am not accusing the Ram gauges as lying but rather as the designer deciding OK I want to keep this simple. The pertinent information while pulling hard is boost pressure I don't want the back pressure (engine braking) being displayed now only boost otherwise the driver is going to be confused. Then when the engine is braking saying the opposite ... the pertinent information is the engine braking .... let's only display the pertinent information.
