I think that the biggest thing to consider, as he mentioned, low gears and start off slowly. When they get “a full head of steam” they’re a whole lot harder to get “Whoa’d up”! At least that’s my opinion, as I’m running around at about 30 K gvw! If you let a steep grade “sneak-up” on you....it can get “cowboy” real quick.This information via a “seat puckering” moment in the early ‘90’s! Thank goodness it was “very” rural, no curves, and a long flat section after the grade. There was no warning of grade, a lot of 5 th wheel weight, lacking some braking on trailer, and no exhaust brake! An enlightening experience!
