I don't know how old your talking about but my 2006 Duramax put out 198 HP at 1600 RPM and the same year Cummins puts out 185 HP at the same RPM.
The 2004 Dmax put out 158 HP at 1600 RPM and same year Cummins put out 122 HP at that RPM.
The 2002 Dmax puts out 152 HP at 1600 RPM and the same year High Output Cummins put out 153 HP at the same RPM.
As you can see, most years the Dmax beats the Cummins at low RPM power or is very close.
Both of you guy's statements are misleading. The HP numbers you are reporting is at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
And I don't consider loafing around means running at WOT.
