Driver side door and window whistleing Dixie??

The driver side door on my 2006 Dodge 2500 CTD 4x4 is not sealing properly. The noise level from driving even at low speeds has become deafening. I owned truck since buying it off the lot and noticed it has been getting worse in the last year. Passenger side is air tight. I know in the past 8 years the driver side door has been blown open 2 times in strong wind gusts that almost ripped my arm off. I check all seals and compared them to passenger side and all looks good but when I shut it door does not sound the same as passenger side. I tried to tighten down door brackets too already. I did notice some brackets hinges do not look flush compared to passenger front door. Took some pics. Could this be the issue? The first 2 pics are the front passenger door and the second 2 pics are the drivers side door. Can I put some shims in brackets and if so what kind?

  • Looks to me like you need new door hinge brackets.
You may need the complete hinge assembly. It does look like the hinge pins can be driven out.
Wind blowing door open as stated bent them.
  • Looks to me like the brackets that hold the hinge pins on the drivers side are definitely bent out. If that is the case, shimming will not fix it, likely only make it worse. Can't see the door side, are those brackets bent also? Is the sheet metal of the door dimpled in any way around those brackets? This is mostly likely your problem and can't be sure if new brackets would fix the problem or not. The door still closes but is likely misaligned due to those bent brackets. Perhaps a good body shop could check it out for a modest fee.
  • Yeah I did try to tighten them and got a little movement. When I was driving yesterday I put my finger in between door frame and top seal and is vibrating and pinching my finger back and forth but the brackets on driver side do not look as flush as passenger side?

New door seals from LM truck might help. the fact that is getting progressively worse points more to seal than hinges.

Should ask if the hinges still feel tight? They can go bad also.
