Hello all,
So I would like to hear some of the disadvantages of a DRW (assuming you dont need the payload rating of a DRW).
Some of the things I can think of are:
2 extra tires to buy
Yuppers
fenders sticking farther out (parking issues, no drive thrus, chance to hit something)
Yes and no. My mirrors stick out farther than the fenders, so if they fit, the whole truck fits. However, cannot gain room by folding in the mirrors like a SRW.
bad in wet grass (most say 4x4 is needed due to this, im guessing tracking on rear sucks?)
Not sure why so many people have this problem, or think that they or others do. I have towed in and out of water with a 4x2.

small decrease in MPG
It must be small. Numbers I have seen from SRW and DRW people seem to be the same.
unable to rotate tires (well its possible but most people dont at least)
Can be done. It is more work though, no doubt.
harder to add air to inside rear tires
True, until you get the right tools. Now I can check and add air without much trouble at all.
Am I missing anything else?
I find my DRW to ride rougher empty than the my previous SRW. Mainly because the extra tires are hitting more of the poor roads in Michigan. This is mitigated by the fact that it drives better when loaded. Not sure why. But it is used more loaded than unloaded for me, so it's a trade off I can live with.
