DRW regrets?

For those of you which have gone from a SRW truck to DRW, do you wish you had just gone with a lighter TC and stayed with a SRW?

  • I don't have a TC, but do have a DRW truck that I daily drive. 99% of the time I don't mind it at all. About the only time I start to dread it is when I have to wash it and can't zip through a quick wash type place.
  • I've questioned my camper choice more than the truck choice. I'll always wonder if I should have gotten a bigger camper, not a bigger truck.
  • My only regret is that I bought a single wheel and had to take a loss to get the correct truck later. As a daily driver it's the length of my truck that gives me the most grief the extra width is secondary.
  • It is not in the nature of a true RVer to "settle" for what is practical or safe. You're supposed to get what you want!

If you want a big heavy camper and don't want a DRW truck, there are all sorts of aftermarket parts you can bolt, glue, or ziptie on to your truck to make it "legal" to carry the load.

Seriously, I do not regret my DRW for a minute, even though I have a camper that I could probably haul with a 1/2 ton. I use it for other stuff, and it will haul or tow just about anything.
