Depends what model year and make SRW you're looking at. Some new Rams can have 4000# payload.
Show me one big boy:B And no regular cab 6.4 Hemi's please :W 4k payload minus you, your wife, couple of kids, big dog, hitch alone is what 250 lbs, firewood, bedliner, stuff, and etc.
Your payload just got really smaller if you have a 3500 lb pin weight on a SRW truck. Also your going by RAWR which is really only the tire ratings. Even my old DRW has a RAWR of 9700 lbs or so which is almost double the new SRW truck ratings.
Some just hook up and go, others think about it.
My buddy has a twin to my truck, except his is a diesel and 3500. 2014 3500 SRW 4x4, Laramie, leather, sunroof, heated and cooled seats, factory spray in liner, Cummins, automatic, crew cab, 6.5' bed. His payload is within 50# of 4000 according to the door sticker (I forget if its just over or just under). The GVWR is 11,700#.
My truck, 7000 curb weight, 10,000 GVWR = 3000 payload
His truck, 7700 curb weight, 11,700 GVWR = 4000 payload
His front GAWR is 6000, rear is 7000. His wheels and tires are the exact same as my truck (18s). My GAWRS are 5500 front and 6500 rear.
Tis true :B
