DRW vs SRW ??

I've been flip floppin like a fish out of water. Don't have the FW yet but pretty sure it's going to be a 3750FL Bighorn (40' x 16,000 lb.) or something similar. We don't plan on running up and down the highway every day, maybe pull it 6 or 8 times a year. I really don't want the hastle of the duelly for daily driving but want to be prepared if plans change. Can I get the job done safely with a SRW? Any advise?

  • That size of trailer? I would not consider anything BUT a dually! You may even have to go bigger than a 3500 for something that big.
  • You will run out of capacity before loading much! Tires are rated for what? Times two will probably be around 7000 pounds. Loading 3500 to 4000 pounds onto an already 3500 pounds on the rear axle will exceed tire ratings for sure Read my lips........ YOU NEED A DUALLY, or less trailer!
