DRW VS SRW VS SBT

Just read yet another thread of SRW vs DRW got me thinking of a compromise getting more common on the bcubicig trucks. Single big tire. They look to be at least 50% more cubic capacity of a single.

  • Not really following what you are trying to find out.

    Anyways, those that do it with pickups generally go to a 19.5 inch rim and a load range g or h tire for a single tire with dually like load capacity. For pickup use they aren't really any bigger, just have a higher psi rating and can carry more load.

    It is fairly common practice on the big rigs and like others have said they call them super singles.
  • I want to more about these wide tire sizes. What size would equal the diameter of the narrow front tires?

    IMHO as long as you're within the load rating of the wheel/tire combo, they're OK to use.
  • My thought would be that the main driving (pun intended) force is cost: one big tire and wheel may be considerably cheaper than two smaller tires and wheels.

    I think I would stay with 2 smaller tires, partly because I like the redundancy of the extra tires: if one goes flat I have another on that side. And I think the 2 tires would still give an overall increase in width over the SBT, and therefore maybe an increase in stability due to the wider track.

    JMO of course.
