When I drove that semi tanker the tractor weighed 15K and trailer full of gas weighed 65K. Or 4+ times the weight of the tractor.
When I towed the 16K 5th wheel the truck weight in at 8900, so trailer was less than two times the weight of the truck.
Both worked fine! I was never unstable behind the wheel.
Regarding the tanker, it was a roman cable going out loaded and a bomb coming back with just gas fumes in the compartments.
