As far as smog is concerned, I am in California though the truck was a Dealer truck from Texas. California Smog requirements for it are pretty much visual. I'd have to check the serial number on the truck but I think it's close to one of the first off of the assembly line for it's generation since it was produced in October or November of 1998 I believe. I don't know if there was a difference between California and Texas emissions equipment at the time, probably something work looking into.
