I haven't personally done the filter/HP test on Dyno, but from what I've read, there is no nominal HP difference between a Donaldson and K&N at under 500 HP with a PSD. However, there is a difference in how small a particles are filtered with the Donaldson being superior. If I'm not going get any difference, I'm going with the Donaldson to protect my turbo which is very expensive on a PSD. Of course, some of you may avoid a PSD which also might be less expensive. :)
I do use K&N on my gasoline non-turbo engines. I haven't found them to damage my gasoline engines and literally can feel the difference and get better MPG with my gasoline engines. YMMV.
