Unless you get an old school AT (BFG KO, Mickeys, etc) every new batch of "AT" tire is, as stated, just a more aggressive street tire. Case in point: my Revo looks aggressive, until you actually need it. I've had to lock 4x4 everytime I needed to push or pull the fiver around the yard or campsite (with over 3,000 lbs on the back axle; should be zero issues with traction)or just trodding around my back yard. Dug wet grass better than my old BFG RT but still no forward motion. Worse, the truck is a pig on wet roads; if there is standing water on the interstate the truck will loose steering for a brief second and fights for directional control. Considering what they cost, and how highly rated they were, it was downright scary the first time it happened, which is quite frequent around here, and I now know what to look for before hand.
This time, if I can get good traction anyway, I'll get improved stability (Nitto or Toyo). Hearing great things about the Toyo AT; while not an aggressive off roader, they are perfect for what I have planned. Same with the Terra. The search continues.
