I have 265/75-16E Bridgestone Revo Duellers on the burb on 16x8 rims. This is my second set and there will likely be a third set when these are done. Excellent road traction especially in the wet weather, makes the truck feel very stable. Semi-offroad tread, did very well aired down in soft sand when we lived on Long Island. Also decent in snow and mud as long as you're running a logging trail or such.
They tend to get a little noisy when half worn like they are now, but I get 45k miles out them without too much trouble. Downside: $$$$...which is what will keep me looking for my next set if I can get a better value.
Many like the Michelin LTX M/S, I did not. I am still a Michelin fan but those tires seemed to lose all of their wet weather traction when only half worn.
If towing, I wouldn't go much bigger than 285 and 8" rim you don't want wider than a 70 series, IMO.
