Class 8 semi’s up to 125k pounds were my daily drivers for many years so DRW pick ups are a piece of cake… I always like having enough pick up. But whatever, the cost and maintenance of diesel pick ups now would make me go with a gasser for towing only 9000 pounds. Dodges have actually been the best trucks of the three major brands but reading about the lifter problems with the hemis would make me do a lot more research. My last three GM’s had endless electrical gremlins so I would strongly consider a 7.3 Ford Gasser. That’s my take on the current diesel versus gas situation… for towing 9k.
