This is why I won't buy a diesel for personal use. You buy it when you have to. I'll keep my campers small enough for a gasser when using for recreational. If I live in it, then a diesel out of necessity.
Many of my family and coworkers, and employer have diesels and as much as I hate GM, it's not a GM issue. I hear extensive troubles with Ford, GM, and Dodge and why I stuck with Gas even when everyone said I should go with a diesel, at the same time they were fixing theirs' :).
Your not a lone, way your options against rebuilt, used out of junk yard, or another truck. You may just want to get a used one put in good enough to sell your truck and get another.
