I would not buy a junk yard engine you will probably end up with the same problem.
Hate to break it to you but the little Cummins was known as a throw away engine long before the Neverstart and Dmax came along. Ford used the throw away Cummins decades ago in their medium duty trucks.
They still use the Cummins in the F 650 and up.
Sorry they repair the Cummins but long block the GM and Ford engines.
