I had to have my heads redone. I had the work done at the GMC dealer. They really wanted to use new heads, I really did not want to add another 1500 to the cost of the repair as a result they would only warranty a portion of the work. Its worked fine ever since. I change out my antifreeze at 5 years on pickups. I also do the litmus strips on the class 8 trucks. Too expensive just to dump that much fluid. When the head gasket went out, I noticed that the temp gauge would act funny. It also started pushing fluid out the overflow in non overheat conditions. Sure sign of pressure building up in the radiator.
