It is a head gasket. Lots of vehicles blow head gaskets. I recall the old Mopar 2.2/2.5. Toyota had a bad run with head gaskets, The old ford 2.9, Nissan has had them. BMW did. Mercedes did. Everyone who has made a car has had some type of head gasket issue to contend with.
Sometimes they fail due to poor assembly, overheating, too small of head bolt. Who knows? It happens. Some vehicles worse than others.
If I had ten bucks for every head gasket I replaced on my old 2.2/2.5 Turbo Dodges cars, I could have just bought a Viper and moved on.
Seriously a head gasket failure is not the end of the world if you don't continue you to drive.
It is unfortunate that the OP had a failed head gasket. Now he just needs a way ahead.
