HG's are a big job on a Dmax.
When the shop did my LB7 the truck was down for a week. It is not an afternoon project for sure.
I don't remember how long it took them in hours but I remember the number was ridiculously high for pulling a couple heads off and putting them back on.
So much stuff in the way - so many things to take off before they could even get at the heads. And then the prep and cleanup of the parts etc.
Big job for sure! :E
Here's what an LB7 looks like torn down:
One thing that baffled me was all the goo and schmoo all over the block and heads. It looks like the oil was never changed in half a million miles. The teardown was at somewhere around 50K miles and I changed my oil very regularly.
Note the Dexcool in the rear 2 cylinders. Thats what the issue was with mine - blowing it out the tailpipe.
It's not a week long job. I did a 6.0 in 21 hrs. It takes longer to have the heads checked at the machine shop.
