Check out your water pump. My son is a master tech and had a duramax come into his shop torn down by the local chevy dealer and they advised head gaskets. Oil was a milk shake.
At the customer request based on the dealer diagnosis he did the head gaskets. filled with oil and water to the coolant reservoir. Water Ran right into the oil pan. Replaced the water pump and all was good.
May have been the only issue to begin with
