Yes - he's done a couple of Duramax engines and said once they're done it's a good motor. Also, said he's done a "lot more" Fords and not so impressed. Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger.
Ford sells a BUNCH more diesels than GM, and the 6.0/6.4's are more troublesome than the Duramax, so it's no surprise the mechanic has done a lot more Fords.
