Duramax eng Code P2599

Pulling fifth wheel from Pensacola to Meridian, Mississippi and about 2/3 of the way "check engine light comes on". Arrived at Meridian and Auto Zone said code P2599. Noticed once unhooked from fifth wheel and driving around town after restart - no check engine light. Next day on drive from Meridian to NW Tennessee, check engine light comes on about 2/3 of the 300 mile trip. Not driving on interstate (US highway 45) and at speeds averaging 60 to 62. There are no mountains on the drive! After arriving home and driving without the fifth wheel - no check engine light. No noticeable change of performance of engine before or after light comes on. I have searched and read diesel place threads but some are dated. Looking for help before taking to dealer. 2012 2500 Duramax with 49,800 miles. The fifth wheel is about 15,000 lbs. I have pulled through rockies and NW US with rig without any codes except "glow plug" bad on one cylinder. Thanks,

    Not sure if it will help you but my 2013 Chevy 3500 Duramax had a check engine light during a long trip and went off by the time I took it to my dealer. It was just outside of warranty but the dealer said they have had issues with the turbos so they changed my turbo for a new one. You may want to check before taking it in, there may be a TSB on them and you could possibly get it changed under warranty (if that is the cause). Good luck
