I suppose you are right, but if I need to tow over 17K on a regular basis my truck will likely have dual wheels and air brakes! ;)

Hook up to a 17K 5th wheel with a 2500 RAM and you will be over the GVWR and Rear GAWR. With our 3500 we are maxing the truck out with a 16K 5th wheel.

RAM has separated the 2500 from the 3500 by putting coil springs on the 2500.
