By raising the power level to 445 GM is making a very clear statement that their new Duramax is to be more powerful than the Powerstroke. I'm quite sure GM has raced the trucks and releasing their power numbers after Ford they had the liberty to adjust the tuning to be what it needed to be to beat the Ford up the Eisenhower pass. I'll be very surprised if the Ford gets to the top first.
