Duramax problems
Seen freind at work have not seen in a while. Bought a chevy dully few yrs back. Said had to put new or rebuilt allison 4100$ and now has head problem 3100$ i guess one side. Vehicle has 125,000 miles...

I want to say that it is about $1500. I saw a mention of it on the Duramax Forums once, they were talking about making it bullet proof.....to tell you the truth, that is much cheaper than buying a new truck....

Maybe for the parts, most auto rebuilds run $2,500 to $5 ,000. Allison is a "truck" transmission but $1,500 seen really cheap.
It cost me nearly that almost eight years ago for a stock rebuild on a 4L60E. I would expect a $1500 "rebuild" on an Allison will get you a very nicely-detailed take-out from a junkyard!
