And you stated that his tires were both, 16" AND 65 MPH limited, which is NOT likely to be true. Not sure why you approached trying to be "informative" in that manner. FWIW, we still do know for sure what the OP has for tires.GA1dad wrote:Old-Biscuit wrote:
OP has posted several times but has yet to confirm.......so I'll stick with the 65mph stamped on sidewall but bet they are 15" vs 16"
OP will openly admit that he hasn't taken the time to go outside with a flashlight ( time change and all ) and look at the tires. OP has a job that keeps him inside during daylight hours, and he only gets little moments here and there to follow up on his thread. If OP had to guess, he'd say they were probably 15's.
OP is man enough to say you are probably right, so by all means take your victory lap and enjoy the moment.
And I am man enough to take the criticism for trying to provide some information....concerning weights AND speed ratings on OEM tires
Nothing to do about being right or taking a victory lap. High School was a long time ago.
From your statement you do not know what those tires have for speed rating.
Maybe you weren't even aware trailer tires had speed ratings..mostly 65 mph max.
Running those 65 tires at 75 mph causes damage....hence the reason for the 65 mph rating
So now you have some information that you can do with as you see fit.
And when those trailer tires fail....you'll have part of the clues WHY
Information is knowledge
Knowledge doesn't require chest thumping
Good luck!
