We spend a lot of time on dirt roads, and dust infiltration has been our most serious problem. I have caulked and sealed everywhere but dust still gets in, primarily at the bottom of the (rear) entry door. In addition the rear wall of the camper collects dirt & dust on every surface. It occurs to me that a truck-width mud flap below the rear bumper might help. Has anyone any experience with these? The mud flap will help for stone and gravel but not do much for fine dust . First thing is to get the bottom of the door to seal . One of the m ain culprits is the lower refrigerator vent . The bottom of the frig is usually not seal from the interior . Another thing to check is the range hood vent .

You have the right idea of treating the problem instead of the symptoms. The problem is the vacuum of the dead space behind the camper drawing the dust in to the back wall.Bear with me I'm thinking outside of the box here.You might try adding a small "wing" at the top of the camper to direct wind into the void. I would do a test with some clamps and maybe a 1" x 6" board. Run it all the way across the very rear of the camper at maybe a 45 degree angle with the forward edge up. That should disturb the vacuum enough to keep the dirt off the back wall.

Could try positive cabin pressure. It might not be powerful enough to overcome dust while driving. But it could help if you camp in dusty areas. I installed a 4" marine bilge blower under my trailer. With a 4" automotive air filter on the intake. The air travels through 4" plumbing pipe into the trailer and is controlled by a PWM motor controller. On full blast it puts out quite a bit of air.

Simple and very effective!
