I'm the DW. I think it is important that I am able to drive the rig in case of an emergency while we are on the road.
I will drive our current 32 ft rig if we are not in the mountains (long story) and I can park it in a pull through. Backing it up is still beyond me, but we have a truck driver friend who is going to teach me when he retires next year.
The last time I tried to back up park a rig, it was a 25 footer and we were meeting a group of friends. The campground had no trees and was very flat. It took me quite a while to get it into position, with much to-ing and fro-ing. When I was done, the DH was laughing his head off. I looked over and there was a bunch of guys in lawn chairs and beers watching like I was the best show in town.
