It takes a lot longer to install or remove with manual crank jacks. Walking round and round you go with a few turns on the crank per corner until you have the clearance to drive the truck either in or out. Taking it off is the easier of the two. Putting it on takes me about half again as long. The hang up is our Lance Camper guides set to a 1/2 inch per side clearance. You must be more exacting when you lower the boom. But it doesn't slide around either.
I do wish I had electric jacks for an easier on-off. Since we leave the jacks at home, there is no weight penalty while traveling. Jackless traveling mode:
